Coding Strengths

I am generally good at backend development (including APIs), DevOps, and Kubernetes. I am also skilled in Docker, as I use it in my daily life. I am also very proficient in maintaining Linux systems, as I enjoy tinkering with it (my desktop for personal use and laptop for professional purposes both run on Linux, and have vastly different use cases).

Areas to Improve

My main weaknesses are graphic design: I am unable to conceive something that looks good visually, and is pleasing to the eye. I usually do something that is simple, that works, and uses the minimum of css. Furthermore, I lack general skills to make a "good" UI. Finally, I am lacking in presentation skills. During my university years, I have been described by a teacher as "a very good technical person, but a very poor salesman". This is due to several factors, including speech impediments and a lack of salesmanship.

Biggest Achievement

While this isn't really a big achievement, it is something I am very proud of: I wrote the necessary code for running and hosting the webtoon at janov.eu/comic. The webtoon itself was drawn by Rodolphe POIRIER for a program he worked on. The goal of the webcomic was to promote the program to younger audiences. For the most impressive achievement, it is the appliance I have created from scratch using a raspberry. This project, for an internship, leveraged my skills in system administration, in electronic, and in web developpement.

Interesting Fact

I really enjoy looking at pictures of Pallas's cats. These are wild cats from Central Asia. I find them very cute. Below is a picture of one.

Future Goals

I would like to be hired as a full time employee in Neuromediasoft, the company where I'm doing my apprenticeship. I would like to be accepted there because I can work fully remotely. What this mean for me is that I can move out anywhere I want, while having a guarenteed job. One of the important perk of this job is also that I am doing something I love, and which feels important: the software the company is working on is helping teachers, and they receive many letters and thank you messages.
